Key Change

Imagine planning a spring 2021 event smack-dab in the middle of the pandemic. We don't have to tell you how hard that would be, right? This is what our friends at Joye in Aiken were up against, so our typical suite of services for the festival were tailored to fit this year's reimagined event. We think the results deserve a standing ovation.

Working in Harmony

Planning the festival without knowing what the world would look like at performance time was a challenge, so the Joye and W/S teams worked closely to pivot when necessary. Performances were spaced out over the course of a few months instead of one week. Some concerts were moved outside in lieu of indoor venues. Media flights were shifted and re-shifted. A digital program accessed by QR code replaced the traditional, physical program. In the end, Joye in Aiken pulled off four fantastic events, with another coming on October 14th. The Joye keeps coming!

"In 2021, we completely redesigned the ways we presented both the Joye in Aiken Festival and the Educational Outreach Program. The new format required outside-of-the-box thinking to allow us to bring the very best in the arts to our region without putting our artists, schools or patrons at undue risk. We are tremendously grateful to our Wier / Stewart team for helping us successfully adapt to real time situations, meet the challenge of keeping our audiences informed, and present top-tier artists to sold-out audiences."
